4-YEAR ROTATION RECOMMENDATION

2025 | Colorado 2nd Choice Rifle Elk

1st Choice: Point Saver (Code: E-P-999-99-P)

2nd Choice: 1st Choice: Units 12, 13, etc. (Code: E-M-011-O2-R) | 2nd Season

Backup Plan: Utah Over-The-Counter Elk

Don’t forget to put down point savers for deer (D-P-999-99-P) and pronghorn (A-P-999-99-P)

2026 | Colorado 1st Choice Rifle Mule Deer or MT Deer/Elk

Colorado 1st Choice: An Exploratory Unit

Depending on experience previous year, may elect a unit you want to look into for rifle elk hunting, i.e. hunting 2nd season for mule deer in a unit you want to hunt 1st season elk in.

Montana: Apply your next point to the draw to go in with 2 points, and you may be able to draw. If you draw both and want to only do one, you can turn back your Colorado deer tag.

2027 | Montana Big Game Combo

You should be able to force the draw on year 3 in Montana. Based on your Colorado experiences and what you are looking for, you can choose the terrain type and mountain range with all of the Montana General options.

2028 | Colorado 1st Season Rifle Elk

1st Choice: Unit 11, 12, 13, 23, 24, 131, 211, and 231 | 1st Season
