RECOMMENDATION

PROS:

Very high success rates for an opportunity mule deer hunt, this youth season will likely let you see mule deer bucks in their summer bachelor groups and largely unpressured from other hunters until a few days into the rifle season. There are enough road systems to find deer without too much physical effort, but a good 4x4 will help prospects of getting away from pressure immensely.

CONS:

The hunt can be very hot with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s, which can lead to very nocturnal bucks. In a normal year, expect limited daytime movement with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Morale of the story, digging up a buck will take diligence behind the glass.
