PRONGHORN OPTION 1

HUNT DETAILS: SPECIAL DRAW UNIT 79

  • Unit 79 - Type 1

  • Season Dates: October 1-15, 2025

  • Must be within 1/2 Mile of Irrigated Land

  • Draw Odds: 100% at 4 Points (2024)

Important Notes:

  • There are plenty of pronghorn to provide good hunting

  • Residents have <10% chance of drawing

  • Ends at the start of your elk hunt

MULE DEER OPTION 2

HUNT DETAILS: SPECIAL DRAW REGION R

  • Unit 47 - General Season

  • Season Dates:

    • October 15-24, 2025 (Any Deer)

    • October 25-31, 2025 (Any Deer on or within 1/2 Mile of Irrigated Land

  • Draw Odds: 100% 2nd Choice (2024)

Important Notes:

  • Flexible Bag Limit

  • May Find a Good Buck While Elk Hunting

  • *Did not like the irrigated part at the end of season

PRONGHORN OPTION 2

HUNT DETAILS: SPECIAL DRAW UNIT 78

  • Unit 78 - Type 1

  • Season Dates: Sept. 20–Oct. 31, 2025

  • Valid Unit Wide

  • Draw Odds: 80% at 3 Points (2024)

Important Notes:

  • Focus on land around irrigation or water sources

  • Long season dates are easy to incorporate into elk hunt

  • Overall enjoyable hunt

MULE DEER OPTION 1

HUNT DETAILS: REGULAR DRAW REGION W

  • Units 82/100 - General Season

  • Season Dates:

    • Oct. 1–8, 2025 (Antlered Mule Deer, 4 pts or more on an antler)

  • Draw Odds: 89% with 0 Points (2024)

Important Notes:

  • Hunted it before

  • Good quality in the desert

  • Loves this style of hunt

YOUR WYOMING ELK HUNT

APPROACH OPTION 1

HUNT DETAILS: GO HIGH, GO EARLY

  • Scout Before Season Starts

  • Some Bulls with Cows on Oct. 15th

  • Expect Hunting Pressure with Deer AND Elk Hunters

  • Can Couple with the Earlier Pronghorn Hunt

APPROACH OPTION 2

HUNT DETAILS: GO RUGGED, GO LATE

  • Hunt the Final Week of Season

  • Great Idea if Coupled with Region R Deer Tag

  • Many Fewer Hunters & Bulls By Themselves

  • Elk Move Out of Inaccessible Wilderness
