Consider These Tactics:

  • Put binos on a tripod and glass, glass, glass if elk are quiet

  • Run a bugle-heavy plan to locate talkative bulls in thick timber and park-filled areas

  • Be sure to be in position 1-2 miles from the roads to avoid heavy foot traffic before elk head to bed

Important Notes:

  • Do NOT pet the bison

  • Be mobile to stay out of elk that have been buggered by wolves

  • Bring plenty of cordage to hang meat high and keep it away from grizzly bears
