WYOMING 2026 APPLICATION
2026 FAMILY MULE DEER HUNT
Recommendation: Apply for an Area 60, Type 1 tag in the Regular Draw.

SEASON DATES: OCTOBER 15-November 5
Recommendation: Apply for an Area 60, Type 1 tag in the Regular Draw.
2024 HUNTING STATS:
Harvest Success: 74.7% (VERY HIGH)
Average Tooth Age (2024 Sample): 4 Years Old
IMPORTANT HUNTER MANAGEMENT AREAS:
Pilot Butte: 5 Permission Slips
This is a new Hunter Management Area in the last 5 years and has good numbers of deer. Being close to Laramie, it’s popular with small game and other species’ hunters as well as deer hunters, which make it less secluded than the North Crow. Either of these are great options for hunting, so deciding based on where you want to hunt and camp nearby is probably the best course of action.
North Crow: 10 Permission Slips
No whitetail hunting is allowed on the type-3 license, but this is good mule deer country and will hold good numbers. You will have to draw this permission slip to hunt.
Note: You can only apply for HMAs in the summer following your successful tag draw.
