Hunt Area 99 | Big Sandy

OVERVIEW: Limited People, Lots of Elk

  • Hunt the wilderness to leave people behind

  • Watch out for major blowdown sections

  • Use trail systems to cover ground quickly, but don’t miss elk sign crossing trails

  • Bugle in the dark - coming and going - to try and fire up a bull to chase

  • Don’t forget about the Bureau of Reclamation elk near Farson

Hunt Area 40 | Ten Sleep

OVERVIEW: General Deer, Whitetail in Ag

  • Hunt the small sections of State Land wherever it crosses river/creek bottoms

  • Get on bluffs above habitat and sit, glassing for whitetail movement

  • If the opportunity presents, don’t be afraid to ask for hunting permission

  • General deer season runs Oct. 15-24 for antlered mule deer, or any whitetail
