GENERAL SEASON ELK HUNT

AREA 28: Oct. 1-14 (Any Elk) | Oct 15-22 (Antlerless)

When E-Scouting:

• Remember elk need food, water, and (most important now) safety

• Safety is created by difficult terrain, private lands, & distance from roads

• Elk will do most of their traveling to and from bedding to feed in the dark or wee-early and late hours

Consider These Tactics:

• Put binos on a tripod and glass, glass, glass

• Still-hunt likely bedding areas if you want midday opportunities

• Bugle at night to catch late rut activity

Important Notes:

• Steeper terrain creates glassing windows

• Plan to sit most (if not all) day glassing or in travel corridors

• Expect to hike in and out at night every hunting session
